Its good to know someone else is trying it also. I have done six deer so far and they have come out pretty good. I have about 11 deer hides left and some coons and a fox. I havent tried the buffalo yet I have watched the video on it and I will probably try one this spring/summer. Good luck on yours. Austin

Thanks Austin, As long as I stick to the bk I am reading Buckskin "the Ancient Art of Braintanning" I don't think I will have a problem except time, I have also from Traditional Tanners, Deerskins to Buckskins Bk and dvd by Matt Richards great site to go to, I called up Traditional Tanners and got to talk to Matt, seems real personable, and willing to awnser questions without trying to sell to you anything you don't need. I am going to buy some more from him and I highly recommend braintan.com to everyone. Hey Austin what video did you get on buffalo hides and where did you get it? Wolfcry

Wolfcry I ordered all of my things through the same place. I bought all the dvds on buckskins and I bought one on buffalo. The one on buffalo was from Wes Housler. It is pretty good but the video quality from the one that I got was poor. They will send you a copy from the original tape, other than that everything I have got from them was great. I have been doing a few deer hides and havent had any problems with them. I have smoked a couple but am going to build a smoke house so I can smoke more than a couple at a time. If I had my lodge up I would smoke them in it but oh well. Good to hear from ya and take care. Austin
