I just found out that Eckert's is having another rendezvous at their Grafton Orchard. It happens that is falls on the same weekend as Fort Bellefontaine. ( Sept 17-18 )
We attended Eckert's last year (the first year) and there were about 5-10 camps and tons of visitors to the Orchard. We were treated well and the kids had plenty to do.
I don't have any experience with Fort Bellefontaine, but we did get scared away last year when I read the rule book about only having your car in camp for an hour during setup.
This may not seem like a big deal but I personally have a large wall tent, Perry and Sharon have a tipi and setting up in an hour is just not possible most of the time. I personally am not one to be rushed either but that is a personal issue.
Is this true or not? I have heard it both ways.
Let me know what you think about either of these events.
Help me make a decision as I have interest in both. |

Hey Matt,
I wasn't able to camp at Ft Belle last year but did the year before. At that time there were cars parked at the camp site all night long on Friday night but had to be moved out Sat morning real early. No one said anything about moving the cars out. It may be that they mean you have to have them out in an hour if you come early Sat morning. A good person to contact to find out for sure is Mike Kladky. He is a registered member on this web site. |

That's good to hear about the Fort. I kind of feel some loyalty to Eckert's and it is a fun one for the kids to attend.
I will find out more information about the Eckert's event tomorrow from the event coordinator at Eckert's. |

I will make a phone call or 2 next week to see if I can get some more information about it.
Last year we made the decision to camp there at the last minute, it was a nice camp with room to grow. They were good to us also.
Angie is the event coordinator at Eckert's and they did what they could to make us comfortable, which doesn't take much for most of us.
Nice grass to camp on, some wood to cook with and keep warm and even some ice if I remember correctly.
Anyway hope to see you there so we can sit around a fire for awhile, maybe even share a camp dinner. |

| roger and I are still trying to talk the Blue Grass pickers to come camp with us to. We just can't get them to come to a Voo on this side of the river for some reason. Although last year we did get them to come to grafton and they did have a good time. |

I don't know if there is a rowdy section of the camp but the area is big enough that I am sure that there is room for you guys. Last year it was pretty small and there weren't many people being loud but we even stay up late.
How many camps do you have coming do you think? Just curious on a camp count. |

Well I can't use age as an excuss but I don't know the name but I probably know the faces.
I am supposed to call Grizz tomorrow night and I will ask about a fire range and cannons. (I have heard rumor that there was going to be a range but they didn't allow it last year, but things change)
I will also see if we are going to be in the same spot as last year or if they are moving us, which could make a big difference in the amount of room we have.
I'll post any info I get as soon as I get it. |

| yea I need to call grizz too. and whether or not they are moving us, we are coming. if space is a consideration then we will just get the biggest tents and everyone put a cot in. I know we will all have fun and I am really looking forward to it. Since I moved to bunker Hill I haven't been to a rendezvous since May Old Mines |
