I'll give you a run down of what we know, They actually started building the Marina sometime this year. The event planners had prepared to move up the shore and still have the event. But the developer of the Marina is dumping the "stuff" he is digging up in the location they were going to hold Gathering of the Waters, thus destroying the new location.
It appears that Grafton officials were of no help in finding us a new location in Grafton, at least on such short notice.
For those who would like to discuss it or have questions here is the place to ask them. |

| I am really sorry to hear that the Gathering has been canceled. It was one of, if not the, best rendezvous of the year. If the vous and shoot are run by the same people that ran it in the previous years, I would attend no matter where it was located. I usually take a few days vacation at that time so If the vous is moved somewhere else, I don't believe it would be a problem for me. What gets me is that this vous was really catching on and was growing nicely. That's two nice vous that have went down the tubes this year. If a new site is found in Grafton, I'll be there. If a site can be found somewhere else in the general area, I'll be there also. Is it to late to find a new place this year? Please keep us informed of any new developments. |

| well has anyone contacted the state run camp debois on where the Missouri and Mississippi river meet? Could they handle us this year? They have enough room to handle all the tents we usually have at Grafton. I would say the wood river Camp but I don't think that there is enough room. If you think there is then how about there. |

| I would travel wherever it can be moved to. I take vacation for this event also so I would like to see it moved to another location if at all possible. |

I would recommend calling the Booshway and Segundo listed in the event listing to encourage them to relocate.
I would also like to make one thing clear. The Mystic Buffalo Gang in not directly responsible for organizing Gathering of the Waters. Members of the Gang have took part in Gathering of the Waters since it's beginning so we feel disappointed as you about the cancellation. |

| Maybe everyone should call city hall and the mayor of Grafton? Maybe we should let him know how disapointed we are in him and the city. |

Hi Matt,
Used the email address for the Grafton Chamber and let them know I was dissappointed. Don't think it will do any good but, at least, I let them know that thier shops won't be getting any business from me this year. Heck, who knows, if they get enough emails it might make a difference. |

I just sent my email this morning. I am sure it will not make a difference, but at least they know how disappointed we are. I hope the city realizes the revenue that they will loose out on this year. If you think about it. 150 camps everyone needs ice, food, gas for vehicles, and sooner or later you always go up town and walk throught the shops. Plus, what about all the people that come to Grafton to see us. I am sure they spend a good amount of money in town too.
Ok, I am going to be late for work if I keep typing, so I am going for now. |

I sent my email off this morning also telling them that their were numerous people disappointed in how this issue was handled.
The more people that take a couple of minutes to write them or call them will help let them know that they are not holding this event with the proper value. |

| A little late notice but good news, They organizers of Kampsville Old Settlers Days have extended their event to end the same time Gathering of the Waters would have ended so if you want to camp that weekend just head to Kampsville. |
