The secret is out and this may not take place, but Wood River Rendezvous is still happening and we encourage everyone to come and celebrate with Turtle anyway.
Hey Varmints,
I've been handed the task of putting the (SURPRISE) Dedication of Camp du Bois (Wood River) for CJ Lanahan (Turtle) together!!!!!!
The place of course is Camp du Bois (Wood River) The time will be Rendezvous, first weekend of May, after we get all the flatlanders out and had colours on Sat May 2nd! [/color]Preparations will be going on all weekend. If CJ asks or gets curious it is for the Rangers 25th Anniversary a yr late! Shocked
The invitation goes out to all the dedicated varmints who scavenge at our fond camp over the years, to Turtles family which I have arranged to come from all over the country with the help of local family members, and all old friends who have crossed Turtles path, (especially with good stories that can used for the roast we will do for CJ) Wink
I have been donated a side of Buffalo(hopefully) to cook (eat at your own risk) over a spit that I am arranging to have made! It will be potluk of course and authentic as possible, so bring enough vittles for everyone.
I am looking for a band who can play old time country, folk, folk Irish, and of course Rendezvous music! Volunteers would be a big help, if not I will consider paying for a band at the right price!
I would like to ask for donations to help pay for the Dedication, to do that, leave message here to contact you, it will go to the Dedication fund that is in place, taken care of by our IL Territorial Rangers Treasurer/Secretary.
Again contact me here by leaving a message in box! All doantions will be applied to the Plaque engraving, materials needed to build the spit, band, anything else needed! Anything left will be given to CJ as a gift, or split with the Camp. Hope to cya all there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wolfcry(Robert)

I need to let everyone know that the event this weekend at Columbia Bottoms has been cancelled. The Mo Dept of Conservation is closing the site due to anticipated flooding from the Mo and Mississippi rivers.
Thanks

The State is shutting down the Fort des Chartres historic site on Oct 1. due to the Great Illinois Budget Wars of '08. However, I have spoken with Tammy Duensing, who says they have given Daryl permission to hold rendezvous and F&I events on the grounds; there will be absolutely no state support for the events, no access to the museum or restrooms, and no state staff, though - all volunteer and camp-fee based for things such as firewood, johns, and trash pickup. Back to the Old Days, Folks! Maybe it will be good for our spirit; things have been getting a little soft over the last decade or so. I will try to post any news I hear about how the Fall Fort 'vous may be carried out.
