Prairieland Frontiersmen
We are a NMRA- Charter member.
Organization: Prairieland Frontiersmen, INC. is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation organized in 1975. The club is managed by a board of directors consisting of nine directors elected annually at large from the general ,membership in October of each year. The club's fiscal year is from October 1st to September 30th of the following year. At present, there are about 160 paying members in the club. The club is not strictly a primative Club, as buckskinners and "blue jean" shooters are about equally represented.

Joe has always been entranced by music of all kinds. Being a teenager in the 1970's sort of led him away from the roots of the old time stuff he grew up with. However, in the early 1980's he received his first fiddle for Christmas. From there it went like wildfire. Enter the mandolin, banjo, dulcimer, guitar, and mix that with a WIFE and you have a recipe for disaster. However, being so sweet and understanding (wife is writing this) she stuck it out for years and was happy when the noise finally turned pretty. THEN along came the idea of playing the BAGPIPES!! Well, wife said "I put up with all the other stuff you learned over the years and I am NOT going to listen to you learn the BAGPIPES!" Now when anyone asks Joe "What ever made you want to play the bagpipes?" He replies, "My wife said she would leave me if I ever started playing the pipes, BUT SHE'S STILL HERE!"
Finally, after years of this Kathy finally decided, if you can't beat em' join em'. That is why we now have THE FLATBRANCH PICKIN PARLOR. Joe's dream is to have a gathering place where all kinds of musicians that play acoustic instruments can get together and play. He remembers the days when he was learning. A lady in Moweaqua named Mildred Perryman opened up her home to musicians every single Saturday night for about 25 years. This is where Joe learned to play. He was taken under the wing of Francis (Zeke) Zindel. Zeke taught him all about fiddle playing and woodworking. Sadly, Francis has passed on but he left many musical legacies behind him.
Our dreams are for the Flatbranch Pickin Parlor to be just like Mildred's. A fun gathering place.

For a glimpse into the French Fur Trade Era, come visit the historic reenactor site of "Fort Bon Secours" (Fort of Good Aid and Assistance)! Fort Bon Secours was a Historical French Fort established by Nicholas Perrot in 1685 on the southwestern shores of Lake Pepin (Lake of Tears) across from the mouth of the Chippewa River (Riviere de Bon Secours). This location is in the proximity of Reeds Landing, Minnesota. The fort was occupied for approximately three to five years, and then was abandoned after Perrot was recalled from his western assignments in 1690. In 1697, Sieur Charles-Pierre La Sueur, the new commandant of the French fort at La Pointe (located on what is today Madeline Island in the Chequamegon Bay), built a second fort at this same site. The exact length of time this fort was occupied is uncertain, but it is believed to have been used for another three to five years. Subsequently, another three to five forts were built along the shores of Lake Pepin (a 35 mile long widening of the Mississippi River). The major reason for the French interest in this area was because at the time it served as the geographic center for a tribe of people know as the Sauntee Sioux or Eastern Sioux and more properly know today as the Dakota.

Four Moons
Nestled in a small, wooded ravine with a creek running through the middle of camp, 4-Moons is a home-away-from-home in true rendezvous fashion.
4-Moons is taking pre-registration forms for 2004. Proceed to the 4-Moons Rising flyer here. Print the flyer, complete the pre-registration form, and send it to Toye Thelen as directed on the flyer.
Newcomers are quickly welcomed into the fold as the family continues to grow. Traders are welcomed to camp alongside family camps.
Camp meetings are held according to schedule developing a wonderful sense of unity. Rifle, hawk & knife, and cooking contests, children's games, and candy cannons are part of the daily routine.
4-Moons prides itself on giving away scores of prizes for contests and drawings, silent auctions, Chinese auctions, and a variety of other opportunities.

Morgan County Longrifles
Welcome to the Web Site of the MORGAN COUNTY LONGRIFLES. Our club is best viewed with a steaming cup of coffee while warming yourself at one of our campfires. Unfortunately, we can't supply you with either the coffee or a campfire over the Internet, but please join us for a quick tour of our club.
We are a non-profit club dedicated to preserving the era of the Muzzleloading rifle. We attempt to do this by using and maintaining traditional Muzzleloading firearms. Also, during many of our events we strive to practice the lifestyle of the American Frontier prior to 1840.
Our range is located about 6 miles South of Martinsville, IN., and is surrounded on three sides by the Morgan-Monroe State Forrest, On the grounds we have both Primitive and Modern camping areas available.
We hold monthly shoots that are normally scheduled on the second Sunday of each month. We hold a Rendezvous in the Spring, Fall and Winter each year, and a Two Day Shoot each Summer.

The Living History Re-enactors, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation of history and heritage by bringing it back to life through education and demonstration. Our mission is to have a lot of fun while preserving history.
Please join us in helping to preserve the following historical places in St. Louis: Fort Belle Fountaine and Daniel Bissell's House in North County and St. Ferdinand's Shrine in Florissant.

The Trappers of Starved Rock
The Trappers of Starved Rock started as a club in 1974. At that time, the
Trapper's were known as the "Front Loaders". This original name was derived
from the method used to load primitive firearms that the Trapper's used. In
September 1975 the first formal meeting was held and the name "Trapper's of
Starved Rock" was adopted. The name was taken from the name the Indians
gave this area, "Starved Rock" because food and hunting were scarce due to the
westward expansion of the white man.
The Trapper's started shooting as a club in 1974. The first club shoot, held in
October of 1975, was at the Daniel Boone Home in St. Charles County. The
Trapper's continued to hold their Annual October Rendezvous shoot at the
Daniel Boone Home until 1990 when the Club moved to the Busch Wildlife area.
The Trapper's remained at the Busch Wildlife area until 1995. At that time they
moved their Annual Fall Rendezvous to the beautiful, scenic valley at Sioux
Passage Park in North St. Louis County. The Trapper's Annual October
Rendezvous is held the first full weekend in October. The Trapper's Monthly Club
shoot is held the third Sunday of each month at various locations.
In July of 1976, the Trapper's became a Charter Affiliated club with the
N.M.L.R.A. Also in that same year, the Trapper's held the first Trade Session or
Swap Meet, which has become an annual event the first Sunday in March.
Another of our Annual Events is the Trapper's Christmas Party, that also began
in 1976. The Party along with The Cookie auction, is a festive time no one
should miss.
The Trapper's of Starved Rock also actively works with civic organizations,
school groups, scouts and other organizations to promote the sport of muzzle
loading, the way of life in the 1700's to 1840 along with the interest in history of
our great country.

High Plains Regional Rendezvous
The High Plains Regional Rendezvous Association consists of a five state region including Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota. Each year the Association holds a Primitive Rendezvous in one of these states.
The High Plains is not as large as a some rendezvous. They typically consist of 80 to 280 camps. However they are much friendlier and a more family oriented rendezvous than many others. At each rendezvous you will find rifle and pistol shooting events, knife and hawk events, archery events, kids games, adult games, horse games, and a variety of seminars & demonstrations.

The National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association exists to promote, support, nurture, and preserve NMLRA's and our nation's rich historical heritage in the sport of muzzleloading through recreational, educational, historical, and cultural venues such as match competition, hunting, gun making and safety, historical re-enactments, exhibits, museums, libraries, and other related programs.

Hog Heaven Muzzleloaders
Hog Heaven Muzzleloaders Inc. (HHML) is a registered 501(C) Non-Profit Organization. HHML was organized back in '79, incorporated in '82, and gained Idaho and federal non-profit status in '03. Our emphasis is on "hands-on" historical education, focusing on the early exploration of the Pacific Northwest. These explorers include the Lewis & Clark expedition and the competing fur companies of Canada, England, and the United States.
Our members come from many different walks of life and backgrounds, be that as it may, we all share one thing in common..... and that is a love of the early history of our country.

Kaw Valley Muzzleloaders
We are located in the heart of the Flint Hills near Manhattan Kansas. The club was organized in the spring of 1978 and officially became an N.R.A. sanctioned shooting club in the winter of that year. In January of 1999, after 20 plus years as Kaw Valley Muzzleloaders, the club incorporated to become Kaw Valley Muzzleloaders Inc. The clubs main goal is to promote the sport of muzzleloading and to preserve our American heritage. They provide black powder shooters and others with an interest in the pre-1840 lifestyle a place to gather for friendly competitive shooting and good conversation. The club holds a monthly shoot on the second Sunday of each month at the monthly range near Manhattan Kansas. We also hold several special events, including our NRA Shooting Sports Camp, and the well known "Frozen Butt" Rendezvous at the clubs main range, The Corndodger Station, near Frankfort Kansas.
