Kurt Kestermeier "Bigon's" went to meet the Great Creator on Saturday, May 24th. He was a member of our rendezvous community.
He was visiting his kids and had just went to his dad's to stay with him a few days.
He is being cremated and his ashes will be spread in the woods behind his fathers house.
A memorial service for Kurt will be held at Fort Chartres on Sunday, 6/8, at 10:00 during opening ceremonies.
They are also going to have another service at St Charles Rendezvous on 6/21.

Freetrappers of Illinois are helping with a poker run for make a wish foundation on june 14 at the hut in ofallon il. cars trucks bikes hell ride a mule we dont care come help the kids and have some fun. more info call 618-624-6990

Hey Gang,
We just wanted to thank everyone again for coming this past weekend to Camp DuBois. We hope that everyone had a good time and plans to be there again next year. Thanks to alot of helpful suggestino we are already planning improvements for next years event. We will have plenty of firewood and the shower will work next year, we promise!!!
Thanks again, and can't wait to see everyone again soon.

I would like to point your attention to the Gatherins List as the community has provided some new events and the information up update some events. If you plan on attending an event please check the listing and the event website before attending to make sure you have the most current information.
Thanks to Larry B. for the update on Living History Reenactors Fall Encampment and Shoot. Take note that took away the camp and trade fees, for those of us who are frugal.

Well another Camp DuBois event has passed. Like buffalochip said it was a small event this year ( I know the weather was so unpredictable) but a fun event. The battles both days were a blast. We all had a lot fun visiting with old friends and make new friends. The Mystic Buffalo Gang has all ready penciled in the event for next year. Hope to see more people from the Mystic Buffalo community there next year.
Just a quick thanks to everyone who works so hard to put on these events. I know it is a thankless job. Just wanted you to know we appreciate everything you do, keep up the good work.

A Member of the Rendezvous community has gone to that great spirit in the sky.
Jeff Berg, son of Otto and Darlene Berg, passed away on Sunday, May 6th.
Jeff drummed with the Great River Fife and Drum Corps for many years and loved to rendezvous. His family was always camped at Heritage Days and while drumming, he participated in various other rendezvous.
The visitation is Wednesday, May 9th from 4 to 8 P.M. at Elias Smith Funeral Home in Godfrey, and the funeral is Thursday May 10th at 10 A.M. Jeff had a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him.
Thanks to the Hoffman's for making sure the community is kept informed.
